Bay Bank Marketplace
The Bay Bank marketplace allows buyers to view credits and/or expressions of interest that have been posted by landowners. Once a buyer finds a project or credits they are interested in, they can contact the landowner by email to begin negotiating to purchase the credits.
Currently, buyers can view potential and existing credits for the following market areas:
- Forest Conservation:
Purchase credits to comply with Maryland’s Forest Conservation Act or for voluntary reasons - Habitat Conservation:
Purchase voluntary habitat credits that support eastern brook trout and bog turtle or find landowners in other priority areas who are interested in taking conservation actions - Water Quality Protection:
Purchase credits to comply with government permit requirements or find landowners in priority areas who are interested in taking conservation actions - Carbon Sequestration:
Find landowners with carbon management plans who are interested in identifying carbon markets - Wetland conservation:
Find landowners in priority restoration and protection areas who are interested in taking actions - Conservation Programs:
Find landowners who are eligible for a variety of conservation programs (e.g. Environmental Quality Incentives Program and Forest Stewardship Program) and are interested in taking action
